Boondi Raita

ingredients:                                                                                                    

  • 1 cup Boondi (savory fried chickpea balls, dried, sold in packets in Indian store)
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1 hydrophonic cucumber, peeled and chopped fine
  • 1 shallot, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp black cumin, dry roasted
  • ½ cup milk
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander (cilantro)
  • 1 tsp chopped mint


Steps                                                                                                                     

  1. Beat yogurt and milk with a pinch of salt.
  2. Add shallot and cumin and mix well.
  3. At the very end, just prior to serving, add boondi.  Stir nicely
  4. Garnish with chopped coriander and mint
